Written In The Stars: President's Final Report

July 5, 2008- Summer
The Junior Council Executive Board had their ocular at different hotels in the Metro. Their first stop was the Makati Shangri-La Hotel. Love at first sight. They knew that the hotel was perfect and they knew that their batch mates would love to have their promenade there. Due to the tight sched of Rizal Ballroom, the council had to look at other options such as the Manila Peninsula and the Sofitel Philippine Plaza.

School Days
Weeks after their ocular, the council received a call from Makati Shang confirminng their booking on the 7th of February. It was perfect. Upon knowing this, they immediately got to work in making their prom the best prom possible.

Fast Forward to February 7, 2009
Pre-Prom work at the hotel. The council was surprised with the beautiful transformation of the Rizal ballroom into a Hollywood-themed venue. The Juniors partied and had fun but felt like time flew by so fast. Like they say, time flies fast when you're having fun. After the prom, everyone went to different after-prom parties. but what was truly important was that they spent the night as a batch together in those 6 hours of laughter and merrymaking.

The JUNIOR COUNCIL EXECUTIVE BOARD would like to thank everyone for making the promenade a success.

Truly, undoubtedly, February 7 was a night Written In the Stars

Filipino Twilight? WTF?

So yeah, it's been spreading that news of a Filipino remake is currently in production.

-> WTF.

Here are the links I found on the subject matter.

Here's a homebase site dedicated to it:http://takipsilimseries.blogspot.com/
Here's what the official website of Ryan Seacrest says: http://www.ryanseacrest.com/blog/filipinos_want_to_cash_in_too/
It's even in Perez Hilton's site: http://perezhilton.com/2008-12-23-filipino-version-of-twilight-to-begin-production-soon

haha. it could be a very funny sitcom.

PRESTIGE.PRIDE.SPIRIT

It's one of those days again..

I've been thinking (and dreaming) about it over and over again. I've even looked into people's multiply accounts just to see what it feels like to be in either of those schools.

So.. Ateneo or UP? Well that's the question I have to answer if I at least get into any of them.

I can't wait!

A testimonial on why UP is the best!

The U.P. system is the premiere educational institution in the
Philippines.

(jolog: Gaudy, unelegant, without refinement in
taste), magulo at delikado raw sa U.P., never daw nilang naisipang

It's the "REAL WORLD"
daw e--lalake, babae, binabae, tibo, tomboy, alanganin, syoke,
mayaman, mahirap, jolog, sosyal, kristiyano, muslim, pagano,
satanista, tarantado, sira ulo, basagulero, siga, duwag, 'langhiya,
nerdoks, geeks, macho, sexy, payatot, maganda, guwapo, panget,
manyak, birhen, liberated, conservative, maginoo, bastos, peste,
magnanakaw, manggagancho, mamamatay-tao, etc. etc. etc!

Sigma Rho, Alpha Sigma, Pi Sigma, TOM, Mu, Sigma Phi, Toma-Suka-Tumba,
Upsilon, Downsilon, Rightsilon, Leftsilon, Babaylan, Alpha Phi
Chupapi, etc.

Name it at meron ang U.P.
kikiam, isaw, A.D.I.D.A.S (paa ng manok), bilog, tenga, balun-alunan,

subjects. U.P. System ang tawag dahil maraming campuses all over the
Philippines .

Pampered! Andun ang pinakasosyal na UP
building, ang UP Robinsons ( Robinsons Mall ).

Baguio, para kang nagbabakasyon while studying. Malamig all
year round, kaya marami ang laging may kayakap tuwing gabi. Familiar

Liblib
na lugar, you can do what you never got to do when those parents are
around!

Meron ding U.P. Visayas at U.P. Mindanao, para sa mga sawa na sa
Luzon. And of course ang pinaka-underrated na branch, ang P.U.P.? or
Philippine University of the Philippines, for short. (wahahahaha)

Meron ding mga hoping maging U.P-- nandyan ang UST or UP Sana Tayo,
DLSU-di Lusot sa UP, at and ADMU (Ateneo de Manila Univ)-Ayaw Daw
Mag-UP.

It's unique and one
of a kind.

nagtilian. First time nakakakita ng birdies ang mga virgin kuno (meron
ako narinig, in a very coño accent: "ay why is that they look like

Laging nasa headlines ang UP!

Kwarto o kwatro??"

Ang saya-saya talaga dito sa iskul natin! Taun-taon ay hindi nauubusan
ng events ang U.P. Meron tayong yearly fair na ginagawa tuwing
February, concerts like Elvis and Maskipaps, ang nabanggit nang
Oblation Run and Lantern Parade tuwing December, ang pagpapaulan ng
libreng condoms tuwing World Aids Day, pagpapa-premiere ng mga uncut
weekends.

Survival of the Fittest, 'ika nga, kaya kapag
gumraduate ka sa U.P., you are ready for the real world. Angat ka
talaga sa iba. Sa kahit anong field, mapa showbiz, politics, business,
rebellion, etc. nangunguna ang mga taga UP! Mga bitter lang ang di
makatanggap ng fact na yan.

Kaya sa lahat ng mga Isko, wherever you are (nangungurakot na pulitiko
sa kongreso, namundok na kasama ang mga NPA), whatever you do (walang
trabaho, director, producer, artista, model, singer, rebelde, tindera,
doctor, abogado, mangingisda, magsasaka, magnanakaw, swindler,

3C, Congratulations for being Champions in this year's speech choir! We truly deserve it. Synchronization, voice levels, use of props, appropraiteness of movements- we surely bagged it. Finally, all our anti-social days have paid off.

And you didn't wanna believe that we would get the championship. I told you guys that we could do it; I had a feeling.

Take a short breather for we will be venturing on another competition, once again. Eco-songfest, here we go!

Thank you, 3C!

Save Us by Cartel
[I'm really sorry Jack's Mannequin, Cartel & Boys Like Girls have replaced you already.]

I suck.
I have to discuss to you about my food trip a while ago. I was in the gym with the usual 2B people and I had an arbitrary decision to have a foodgasm. It started with a very yummy Hungarian sausage. Then followed by a praline bar. After which, I had 2 servings of their great-tasting Carbonara. And after that, I had another praline bar.
Sounds okay, right? I just enjoyed the spur of the moment to indulge with food.
It got worse when I got home...
[maybe you're thinking of a stomach condition, but no. :P]
I found out that my dinner is Carbonara.
Well, the "Big Guy in the Sky" really finds ways to make you halt.
So much for sheer delight of enjoying food.

Anyway, I'm pretty excited for the APAC [Also known as the CMLI redux :P ]tomorrow. I hope it'd really be fun as I am expecting it to be.

Well that's all for today's blogging. I hafta pack for tomorrow. :P

it's just a dance hall drug.

Dance hall drug by Boys Like Girls

Classes resumed today. I could not help but be satisfied with everything that happened today. :] I wish this kind of school vibe will push through to the rest of the year.

Anyway, I have to admit that I have been lax this quarter. My grades are very low, I predict a nosedive. :[ Well, I couldn't blame anyone else except myself. I don't know what I did, or what I did not do, but the point is- I performed poorly. Dissatisfaction will surely come my way on the day of the giving of report cards.

Oohh.. I had some kind of enlightenment today. It's like my inner nerd-ness burst out of me. I feel like I really wanna study. haha :]
I also thought about the dull moments I spend at home. Instead of watching tv and doing things that are VERY extra-curricular [obviously NOT in a school sense], I have decided to study, widen my vocabulary, read a good book, read abut interesting trivia, listen/ discover good music, or work out. I believe these are some activities that would really benefit me and would really produce good results in the future. I just hope that this liberation from being a total sloth would last long. Haha. :]

Okay, I'll end my blog here. Heaps to do.

One day this'll make you proud.

Say Anything [Else] by Cartel
Thanks Josh for the Cartel songs! I'm really enjoying their company.

Anyhoo, it's really been a boring day. I slept 3 times this morning [apparently because of the long trip to Manila].
Still reminiscing those CMLI days. I miss the Vanilla Milkshake of 50s Diner, Marengo & Kenny George pizzas of Volante's, Kei-Michael C. and Josh-Michael M. daily banters, the jokes and mind reading skills of Sir Bob, Ms Regato's  funny comments, hours of Pusoy-Dos and trivia sharing, and lots lots more. Daang, I miss it.

Random thought:
I feel like I wanna debate. I think it's fun. Should I try out for next year? Ionno. Argh. If I'd join, I will surely have conflicting points of interest. I don't like thinking about this. It's really ambiguous right now. My mind is bleeding. Haha.

Uhh.. There's this carnival at MOA, it's like EuroStar but in a grander scale. Im'a check it out tomorrow. You should too [points at you].

Can't wait for school to start. I'm sure my grades will have a downtrend, though. I will not like it. Booted out of top 10? Maybe. Daang.

It's so hard to find someone to love and to cherish. However, I think I potentially have this thing for someone. Anonymity is a must [vague pa eh]

All I can say is this day is irksome.

throw me away, forget yesterday, we'll make the great escape

the great escape by boys like girls

Blogging at 10pm to tell you guys about my Baguio Escapade that occurred from the 27th to the 31st of October for the 49th CMLI Annual National Convention.

I had so much fun! The CSA Contingent was composed of Me, Michael C, Allan C, Kei R, Michael M, Josh L, Stephanie P, Joe C, Nina A, Ms. A Regato & Mr. R Libao.
I'm not to explain the trip in detail but all I could tell you is that we had so much fun. We ate and ate, became a little anti-social cause we skipped almost all discussions [evil laugh. haha.], played Pusoy-Dos which I find really fun [i won many times.haha.].

What I found most fun is the time when the boys of the delegation started to share trivia. We answered each other's trivia, i was blown away because of the expanse of their mental maps, I felt happy also because I discovered that I myself know a lot of these vital/useless information. haha. We also had fun scaring each other's souls out because of the ghost stories we shared and considering our proximity to a haunted house located near teachers camp. It was also fun having to share songs [special thanks to Josh!], and different bands, and genres. Cool.

Anyway, the contingent was very successful in reaping the coveted awards:
CSA Debate Organization- Champions in the Oregon-Oxford [Or-Ox] ]Inter Secondary Debate Tournament. They are now the bearers of the coveted Balboa Cup.
Earl Burgos- 2nd Place during the 1st VJ Hosting Competition
Allan Cabrera- Best Debater, Best Speaker during the Inter Secondary Debate; and 3rd Place Essay Writing Competition
Joshua Lim- 1st Place during the Extemporaneous Speaking, 1st Place Pop Quiz Hot Shot [w/ Michael M]
Michael Manangu- 1st Place Pop Quiz Hot Shot [w/ Joshua L]
Michael Calanog- 1st Place Advertising Competition

Congratulations to all the schools who participated!
Looking forward to next year's Con!

Wonderwall by Oasis

I suddenly missed this song. Haha.

Wow. I haven't blogged for a month. Haha. Who cares anyway? No one reads my blog. :| Haha.
We had a really tough week. Sleepless nights once again. Academic week concluded last week but then the subjects started to rush us for next week's periodical exams. Man, I feel really drained right now.
Reader's Theater on Monday, excited? Not really. More of scared, afraid of screwing up my lines. Haha. I'l' be Yama, by the way.
El terrible, mi amigos: Math PT will be REALLY challenging according to Mr. Trinidad. I'm screaming for oblivion right now! I failed last quarter's periodical & I will be really down and cursing myself til the ends of the Earth if I do so again! May God gimme the WISDOM I need. Please!
I feel like a rope smack in the middle of a tug-of war right now. I really wanna be involved in this tree planting in rotary, but then I also wanna be a delegate in CMLI!.. What to do? What to do?
Haay.. problems.. :|
Anyway, I really get ti enjoy 2B's company now. I can say that we are one big happy family! But sometimes, they have this irritating banter that makes me wanna laugh and cry at the same time. Hahaha. And some are very PASAWAY, no class participation.. tsk tsk.

SHOUTOUT: Happy Birthday to Allan!
And everyone, keep safe! I don't want anyone to be involved in some fiery explosion. Knock Knock Knock.

So this ends my comeback blog!
Ciao!

so this is the first verse.

La La Lie by Jack's Mannequin

Haven't updated for a very long time, had too much stuff to do.

Yesterday, we received our first quarter report on academics and deportment (aka the report cards). Wow, it was a surprising turn out, especially for the top 10. From a patriarchal-ish top 2, now we have 2 fine ladies as the two towers of the sophomore batch.
Here is the list of the SOPHOMORE TOP 10 of the first quarter:
1. Guia Bulanhagui- 94.2
2. Mikhaela Gomez- 94.1
3. Michael Calanog- 94.0
4-5. Allan Cabrera & Kei Rebolledo- 93.9
6. Earl Burgos- 93.8
7-8. Gela Magnaye & Romano Alonzo- 93.3
9.  Kat Borja- 93.0
10. Marc Rayos- 92.9

CONGRATS TO THE TOP!! AND TO ALL THE EAGLE AWARDEES! 19 GOLD IN 2B! WOOW!

Equation of a hell-ish month:

shade

let me tell you why i would die for you.

light up the sky by yellowcard

Speaking of whom, do you know that the only yellowcard song that i listened to is ocean avenue? Yeah, i know, that for someone with great taste in music [i suppose :)], i surely suck that i never listened to a great act [until now]. hahaha. Oh well.. hahaha. They have a great album by the way, Paper Walls is nice.

Anyway, I've been wanting to buy some albums lately. There's this emo/screamo album that goes with the title of "The Hurt  Parade", it's cheap but they have a great selection of songs. The Academy Is... has finally released an album here in Manila. Yupyup, they're really great. Listen to Checkmarks and Slow Down, one of their rad tracks. Hahaha.

I would like to commend this band popularizing/producing machine. They're "Fueled by Ramen Records." They discovered The Academy Is..., Paramore, Gym Class Heroes, Panic at the Disco, Fall Out Boy, and other great acts. Thanks FBR for the music. ahahaha!

Let's talk about MY life now.. Hahaha. I'm doing great in school, except for math. Gaaah. I shall try harder next quarter... Anyway, there's a great chance that I will be going to Australia next year for the WYD '08. I'm pretty excited traveling on my own. Woots!
I am enjoying very much my being a cadet. The PET last week was so fun, a lil tiring though. But it was a great experience.
Sabayan Practices are going pretty well. I wish we'd breeze through the finals. Hahaha.

It's wednesday again tomorrow. The pre-sem break is officially about to end. Sigh..

That's all for my entry

Sorry it sucked.

Anyway...

Ciao!
